Warner Bros. will distribute MGM films overseas; What’s Up With Bond – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Two months after their run as Warner Bros. Pictures Group Co-Chairmen and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy have entered into a multi-year deal to handle the international distribution of MGMtheater titles, starting with that of Luca Guadagnino bones and all in November and continuing with the 2023 list and beyond; the second title of the pact being Creed III in March.

The deal, which De Luca and Abdy struck with MGM COO Christopher Brearton, will bring a lot of additional revenue to Warner Bros. the United States, including China. The new deal also includes worldwide physical home entertainment distribution on all new MGM titles. MGM and Warner Bros. Picture Group will team up for marketing/publicity, publicity, film distribution and exhibitor relations on behalf of MGM’s future slate of theatrical releases outside of the North American theatrical market, with Warner Bros. responsible of execution.

Previously, MGM titles were released overseas by Universal, and under the terms of the studio’s old contract, Eon’s Link 26 will be published by Uni International, in addition to Orion Pictures’ upcoming release from studio Broccoli Until and that of Sarah Polley women talking during the first quarter of 2023. After Sony distributed the majority of the Daniel Craig 007 franchise across four titles, Universal released the latest overseas with the actor, No time to die, which grossed $613.2 million. MGM released this film in the United States where it earned an additional $160.8 million for an overall total of $774.1 million.

The terms of the new Warner Bros. with MGM include overseas distribution of the following 007 films from Link 27 ahead.

Warner Bros. managed the internal market the first Creed from MGM, while MGM/UAR published Creed II. Combined the first two Creed films starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky boxer Apollo Creed, grossed $388 million at the worldwide box office. Jordan directs Creed III and will star alongside Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Phylicia Rashad, Mila Kent, Jose Benavidez, Selenis Leyva, Florian Munteanu, Tony Bellew, Jacob Duran, Patrice Harris, Ann Najjar, Thadeus J. Mixson and Spencer Moore II. Outlier Society are also producers on Creed IIIin addition to Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Elizabeth Raposo, Sylvester Stallone, Jonathan Glickman and Ryan Coogler. Creed III is written by Keenan Coogler, Zach Baylin and Ryan Coogler. Pic’s EPs are Nicolas Stern, Zinzi Evans, Adam Rosenberg and Sev Ohanian. Creed III opens March 3.
