“Not to please others” – Billboard

Britney Spears had a few more things to say after dropping – then deleting – an emotion 22 minute voice memo in which she recounted the difficulties of her 13 years of guardianship. “You can lose your individuality over a fake story about how others may perceive you and some idiots like me fall for it because sadly I care,” she wrote Sunday night (August 28) .

“But in the end… I have to honor myself and realize that it’s not about pleasing others or driving you crazy about what other people think,” she added just hours after sharing the voice note.

“Honoring me…and valuing myself is the only way to achieve something we all seek…self-love…self-worth , and pass that on to every person I meet!!!” She also took the time to correct one of the comments she made in the memo about how much blood she had to endure each week while in guardianship. “A reminder for some of you who may have confused what I said…it was 6 small vials of blood not 6 gallons!!!” she wrote.

Spears said she was “honoured” and felt loved by the awareness and recognition of her successful collaboration with Sir Elton John on “hold me closeras well as for his “struggles and what I’ve been through!!! He [John] knows the difficulties of the world on a larger scale.

The singer also denounced what she said has always been a “boring tactic” in music, complacency, assuring her fans that “music…creation…production is where my heart rests. and lifts me up with inspiration!!!I had the opportunity to work with someone who is beautiful and kind on every level.

Additionally, Britney being Britney, she posted a short video of herself in a yellow dress dancing to Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” and “being a ray of sunshine…life is short…so smile like s ‘there was no tomorrow!!!’
