iPhone 14, Apple Watch series 8, plus

In a few weeks, Apple will likely host its traditional September event. If the company follows the trend, this will be the most important keynote of the year. While Apple may be readying several products, there are two that people are most looking forward to: the iPhone 14 series and the Apple Watch Series 8. Here’s what Apple might announce at its September event.

iPhone 14 at the Apple September event

The iPhone 14 series will be the star of Apple’s September event. With four new models about to be introduced, expect a lot of hype from a new iPhone 14 Plus/Max. Although the regular models don’t have much to differentiate from the current generation iPhone 13, a larger model will be a nice addition.

At Apple’s September event, expect big changes for the iPhone 14 Pro, as previously reported by 9to5Mac. With a new design, a better processor, and huge improvements on the camera side, the iPhone 14 series will likely be one of Apple’s biggest launches in years.

Three new Apple Watches are coming

September Apple Event

BloombergMark Gurman has reported that Apple will introduce three new Apple Watch models in 2022, which he calls the biggest update for the watch in years.

These watches could be unveiled at the Apple event in September. The Apple Watch Series 8 will at least get a new body temperature sensor and better battery life. The Apple Watch SE will likely see a second generation while Apple is also readying a rugged “Pro” version of the current watch with a different design and premium finish for extreme sports.

AirPods Pro 2 at the Apple September event

Recall of AirPods Pro

Besides the iPhone 14 series and the new Apple Watch models, Apple could present during its September event the new AirPods Pro 2.

With a design similar to the current generation, 9to5Mac Sources have confirmed that the next AirPods Pro model – codenamed B698 – will feature the next version of the H1 chip, Apple’s own audio processor. Additionally, benchmarks for LC3 codec support on AirPods Max beta firmware indicate that AirPods Pro 2 may be the first to add Bluetooth 5.2 support.

This codec will bring more stability and efficiency to wireless headphones. Not only that, but this new standard will help AirPods Pro 2 improve the sound quality of voice calls and songs with higher bitrate support. Although Bluetooth Low Energy and LC3 codec don’t promise “Lossless Bluetooth”, they will certainly improve sound quality significantly.

Apple Mixed Reality Headset

Rumors about the Apple Mixed Reality headset have multiplied over the past year. At Apple’s September event, the company may revive Steve Jobs’ “One More Thing” phrase to tease the company’s upcoming mixed reality headset.

Rumors are currently expecting it to be unveiled as soon as the end of this year and to start selling in 2023. The September Apple event could be the perfect time for Apple to disclose to the public that it enters a new market.

For example, earlier this year the company announced that it was working on a new Mac Pro without further details.

Are iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16 coming to Apple’s September event?

It depends. According BloombergAccording to Mark Gurman, iPadOS 16 has been delayed by at least a month, as Apple is targeting an October release – alongside macOS 13 Ventura. At Apple’s September event, its CEO Tim Cook will likely announce the release date for iOS 16, watchOS 9, and tvOS 16.

New Macs and iPads could arrive a little later

September Apple Event

Apple is also expected to introduce several new Macs and at least two iPads in 2022. While the company unveiled a new MacBook Pro in October, Apple could prepare another keynote a month later to bring new Macs and iPads.

In his newsletter, BloombergMark Gurman said Apple has new Mac minis and high-end MacBook Pros for later this year. 9to5Mac Sources have already confirmed that Apple is working on the base tenth generation iPad and a new iPad Pro.

When will Apple hold its September event?

Apple typically hosts its events on a Tuesday. If the company follows the trend of the past year, the keynote could take place on September 13, as it is the second Tuesday of the month.

Although nothing is confirmed – and there are no rumors regarding the possible date – it is common sense that this could be the ideal time for the company to present the iPhone 14, the Apple Watch Series 8 , and more.

Since WWDC 2022 had a hybrid experience, it looks like the company will be bringing the same experience to its September event, as a report indicates that Apple has already started recording the keynote.
