Cameron Smith moves to LIV Golf Series, won’t defend Players title

Cameron Smith, who won The Players in March with a final 66, has entered the LIV Golf Series and will be suspended by the Tour when he plays this weekend in Boston.

The First Coast PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions events will not have their defending champions on the court the next time they play.

With the official decision of Cameron Smith, Players Champion and resident of Ponte Vedra Beach Tuesday to sign a contract with the LIV Golf Series, the Australian will likely be suspended by the PGA Tour along with any other members who have played in a LIV Golf event when they play it later this week in Boston.
