Britney Spears’ mother Lynne Spears responded to the pop star saying in a bomb audio clip that she felt abandoned by the matriarch in the middle his guardianship.
“Britney, all your life I’ve done my best to support your dreams and wishes!” Lynne, 67, wrote on Instagram Sunday alongside an old black and white photo of her and the “Hold Me Closer” singer, 40, laughing together.
“And also, I did my best to help you out of trouble!” I have never turned you and will never turn my back on you!
Lynne claimed Britney was the one who turned her back on her, adding: “Your rejections for the countless times I’ve been on planes and calls make me feel hopeless! I’ve tried everything.
She then ironically concluded the public post, “I love you so much, but this conversation is for you and me only, eye to eye, in private. ❤️🙏.”
Hours earlier, Britney called out her family for the alleged abuse she suffered throughout her 13-year guardianship, but pointed out that she felt “angrier” at her mother than her father and former curator, Jamie Spears.
“I heard the reporters call him [Lynne] at the time and asking about what was going on, she was innocently hiding in the house and she wasn’t talking,” the “Toxic” singer said in the now-deleted 22-minute audio clip she uploaded to Youtube.
“It was always, like, ‘I don’t know what to say. I don’t mean the wrong thing. We’re praying for her.’ »
Britney said she “felt like” her mom could have found her a lawyer in “literally two seconds” if she really wanted to help her.
“My friend helped me take one in the end, but every time I got in touch with a company, my phone was tapped and they took it away,” the “Overprotected” singer said.
Britney and her mother have been publicly feuding for months since the ‘Stronger’ singer’s conservatorship was completed in November 2021.
That same month, Page Six exclusively learned that Lynne had flown from Louisiana to Los Angeles to see Britney — weeks before her conservatorship ended — but the Grammy winner “didn’t even let Lynne enter her home.”
“She is mad at her“, told us a source at the time. “Lynne tried for several days to try to visit her, but Britney simply shut her up.”
Around this time, Lynne had filed a petition asking her daughter to cover more than $650,000 in legal fees of the guardianship battle.
More recently, Britney shared screenshots of text messages on social media that she sent to her mother, a friend and an attorney at a mental health facility in 2019 — which the “Lucky” singer insisted she hadn’t received” no answer”. Lynne too denied these allegations.
Britney even accused her mother of being “he who gave [Jamie] the idea” for his guardianship.
Consequently bad blood between them, Lynne did not receive an invitation at Britney’s fairy tale wedding at Sam Asghari in June.
