Brie Larson can’t take a break from the world of Marvel – something she acknowledged over the weekend with a sarcastic response… for which the internet is criticizing her once again.
The actress was present on Saturday at the D23 exhibition – where Disney showed off a ton of new stuff. One of those projects, “The Marvels,” involves Brie and her Captain Marvel persona… but this time it will include other women with similar Marvel powers.
How long will Brie Larson play Captain Marvel?

While doing press outside of the main stage, she was asked a pretty simple question: how long do you plan to keep playing Capt. Marvel?
His answer is revealing. She says she frankly doesn’t know, openly wondering if people actually want her to take on the role more than she already has. It was a little tense, and the interviewer tried to lighten the mood…to no avail.
Honest answer: Brie always came across as very smug and arrogant in her interviews when Cap Marvel came out. She thinks she is showing wit, but it seems hostile. This seems to be another case where she thinks she’s playing but doesn’t show up that way.

Now the backlash… Brie is catching criticism from quite a few people responding to this video in the comments — their main gripe being, why is she doing such a big passive-aggressive stink on such a layup of a question. .. especially with this saga that is years old.
We’ll spare you the details of all that, but basically… when Brie was cast as Captain Marvel in 2018 and with her release in 2019, there was a lot of seemingly random hate directed towards her – for a variety of reasons not even we understand. . Her detractors say she is downright unsympathetic – her supporters say she is the victim of blatant misogyny by a rabid fan base.
Why does Brie Larson go out of her way to be as insufferable and unsympathetic as possible in so many interviews? Has probably one of the most inflated egos of any actor working in Hollywood today. https://t.co/2VFFIoa2ra

The apparent dislike for her wasn’t limited to Twitter either – there were reports of her movie and others she was affiliated with at the time getting slammed by people who just wanted to upset her… again once, for wrong reasons- defined and out of nowhere.
It’s been 4 years since Brie Larson gave an eloquent speech in which she only stated facts and to this day nothing has changed every project that Marvel has released that had a POC or a female lead character has been bombed today. . pic.twitter.com/LqqX5XfnAj

Some have said that his support for more diverse castings/criticism pools – via inclusion riders, etc. – could be a catalyst … but either way, Brie is obviously aware of the target on her back. FWIW, Brie also attracts a lot of people rushing to her defense…but it’s a mixed bag.

John Boyega Rips Disney For Ruining His ‘Star Wars’ Character Development
Sure, she’s going to be doing this new movie – coming out next year – where she’ll be reprising her character… but with all the heartache she’s feeling, we wouldn’t be surprised if she hangs up and moves from House of Justice. mouse.
Jean Boyega understands all this too well … he too, had a hard time with the “Star Wars” fanbase and Disney in general. Safe to say this studio and all that goes with it is not for everyone.
