AMD Noise Suppression technology already broke the curtains when a video of the feature played live before its release by AMD themselves. Now, the red team has officially introduced its Radeon Software drivers which add support for said technology and aim to be a direct competitor to NVIDIA’s RTX voice which works on both GeForce RTX and GTX products, while noise cancellation will work with Radeon RX 5000 series and above. .


AMD Noise Suppression reduces background noise from your surroundings, providing greater clarity and focus, whether you’re focused on an important meeting or locked in a competitive game. Using a real-time deep learning algorithm to reduce background audio noise, this new feature works for both your input and output devices on any AMD-powered system, removing noise from unwanted background captured on your microphone or someone else’s device.

To find AMD Noise Suppression, make sure you are using the latest version of AMD software, click on the Settings icon and go to the Audio and Video tab. Under Audio Settings, you’ll see AMD Noise Cancellation; all you have to do is click the slider and then choose your input/output device or both depending on which device you want to enable the feature on. From there, open your games or communication apps such as Microsoft Teams, Discord, or Slack to name a few, and select “AMD Streaming Audio Device” for your input/output to take advantage of the removal. AMD didn’t mention any other OpenGL titles outside of Minecraft, but this is likely the only instance where the red team saw the biggest performance boost with their new drivers. If you happen to play older OpenGL games, you’ll probably see good performance improvements, but not as heavy as the 92% AMD claims for Minecraft.

In addition, AMD has also extended and optimized its Radeon Super Resolution technology which now works with Radeon RX 5000 and RX 6000 series laptop GPUs. The company has also made additions to its Radeon Boost VRS support list which now adds the latest titles such as VALORANT, Elden Ring and Resident Evil Village.
