Held on Monday, Sept. 12, the 2022 Emmys celebrated the best TV shows and performances of the year — and Hollywood’s hottest small-screen stars hit the red carpet in truly excellent styles.
Girls “Euphoria” Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney both opted for old-school glamor in Valentino and Oscar de la Renta, respectively, while Quinta Brunson and Lily James looked like goddesses in bronze dresses.
Sequins and sparkle were a major trend – with Sandra Oh, HoYeon Jung and Reese Witherspoon among the many who opted for all-over embellishment – while Lizzo opted to leave the scorching ruffles explosion of her Giambattista Valli dress have an impact instead.
Below are our best-dressed picks from this year’s Emmys.
Zendaya
The “Euphoria” favorite is usually a pretty daring dresser, but with this black Valentino bow prom dress, she proven she can do old hollywood elegance as well as the fearlessness of fashion.
Lizzo
It’s “About Damn Time” Lizzo made his Emmy debut – and in this ravishing red tulle made by Giambattista Valli Haute Couture paired with Lorraine Schwartz diamonds, she may have stolen the show.
Amanda Seyfried
No black turtlenecks for “The Dropout” star tonight! Seyfried went full “mermaid” in a shimmering lilac look by Armani Privé paired with Cartier jewelry, and looked mesmerizing.
Sandra Oh
The Rodarte sequined pantsuit and matching “Killing Eve” star’s plunging top were pure purple perfection; Cathy Waterman pieces with matching colored stones completed the look.
Sydney Sweeney
While her “Euphoria” persona might favor crop tops and strappy swimsuits, Sweeney nods to a more elegant era with this custom animated Oscar de la Renta dress covered in metallic thread.
Quinta Brunson
The designer and ‘Abbott Elementary’ star made her dazzling Emmys debut in a copper-colored Dolce & Gabbana dress that fit her like a glove. Bonus points for the transparent gloves and Jared Lehr jewelry, both of which matched her metallic dress.
Ho Yeon Jung
The stylish ‘Squid Game’ star and model has a long history with Louis Vuitton; in 2016, she took part in her first show at Paris Fashion Week for the luxury brand, and in 2021, she became a Vuitton ambassador. Her Emmys look by the fashion house, with a tweed pattern rendered in colorful sequins, was both playful and refined.
Reese Witherspoon
The “Morning Show” actress was a beauty in blue on Emmys night, accessorizing her fully embellished Armani Privé gown with over 210 carats of Tiffany & Co. aquamarines and blue cubic zirconia.
Julia Garnier
We’re not entirely sure about this midriff cutout, but there’s no denying that the lush brown velvet and intricate floral embroidery on the “Ozark” star’s Gucci look bloom beautifully.
Christine Ricci
The “Yellowjackets” actress’ Fendi Couture form-fitting briefs were a marvel of texture, covered from top to bottom in embroidered metallic sequins that almost looked like fur or feathers; she even wore a matching clutch.
Nicholas Brown
A handful of men ditched traditional black tuxedos for whites at this year’s Emmys – but none looked better than the ‘Succession’ star, who styled his double-breasted Dior Men look with collar darts diamond Fred Leighton.
